Recently we stated the news regarding the performance issues of Google’s Tensor G4 chip that was having CPU throttling issues on a high stress test but now Google has given a statement on this issue.
Why Tensor G4’s drop performance is not a big issue?
Soniya Jobanputra, a Google product manager shared that the Tensor G4 was not aimed to compete with other chipsets or set high standard benchmark in mobiles hardware, but it was designed to meet Pixel’s need and growing hardware demand in real life as Google aims for better user experience and their everyday need
The same also goes with the Tensor G3, Jobanputra said that the G3 was designed for better app opening and speed processing. That was the problem with the hardware Google work on, and then Google built Tensor G4 for more better experience and also capable of doing everyday user task and able to handle the growing generative AI features also
The point to be noticed is that we mentioned that the performance test is not meant for everyone. You could barely face the issue when longtime gaming and other rendering like projects. Although the Tensor is using the Exynos’s architecture with some changes but the overheat issue is already in Pixel phones when Tensor was announced. It can become better in future
