Nubia released its latest gaming smartphones, the Red Magic 9S Pro series, at the Red Magic Esports Universe new product launch conference. The series includes the Red Magic 9S Pro and Red Magic 9S Pro+, with prices starting at 4,799 yuan. The key differences between the two models lie in battery capacity, fast charging power, and storage options.
Sleek and Durable Design
The Red Magic 9S Pro has a flat back and a full-screen front without any hole design, maintaining a slim profile of just 8.9mm thickness. Its back cover is made from high-precision camera lens-grade integrated glass, providing excellent light transmission, color accuracy, and resistance to scratches and wear. The phone is available in four color variants: Day Warrior, Dark Knight, Deuterium Front Transparent Silver Wing, and Deuterium Front Transparent Dark Night.
Display
The Red Magic 9S Pro features a 6.8-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2480×1116. It supports a 120Hz refresh rate, a 93.7% screen-to-body ratio, 1600nit peak brightness, DC+2160Hz PWM dimming, a 100% DCI-P3 wide color gamut, and a 10-bit color depth. It also incorporates a 1600W under-screen front camera enhanced by an AI portrait algorithm and a UDC PRO under-screen display chip.
Advanced Cooling System
To ensure optimal performance, the Red Magic 9S Pro is equipped with the ICE 13.5 magic cooling system. This system includes a 10,000-level ice-grade VC, innovative frost cooling gel, and an alloy shark fin high-speed centrifugal fan, capable of reducing body temperature by up to 19.5℃ and CPU core temperature by up to 25℃.
Performance
Powered by the third-generation Snapdragon 8 Advanced processor, the Red Magic 9S Pro has a CPU core clocked at 3.4GHz and a GPU frequency of 1GHz. It comes with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 flash memory. In extreme quality tests, the phone maintained 60FPS for 60 minutes in “Genshin Impact” and 120 minutes in “Honkai Impact 3.”
Battery Life and Charging
The Pro version includes a 6500mAh battery with 80W fast charging, reaching full charge in 35 minutes. The Pro+ version has a smaller 5500mAh battery but supports 165W fast charging, achieving a full charge in just 16 minutes. It also supports charging separation.
Camera
The camera is equipped with a 16MP under-screen front camera (OmniVision OV16E1Q) and a rear triple camera system: a 50MP main camera (Samsung S5KGN5, OIS), a 50MP ultra-wide-angle camera (Samsung S5KJN1), and a 2MP macro camera (GigaDevice GC02M1).
AI and Software Enhancements
The new phone features the “Red Magic Cube AI Big Model” with 160 billion parameters and 20,000+ scene training. It provides a quick first word response of about 1 second, supporting autonomous learning, content creation, and intelligent perception functions. It is compatible across PC, mobile, and Pad devices, mainly for daily applications and gaming assistance. The upgraded voice assistant supports route navigation, making calls, sending WeChat messages, playing music, and querying surroundings. Additional AI game assistance features include an Intelligent Navigator, AI Trigger, and Audio and Video Probe.
Enhanced Gaming
The phone also includes a large-size 0815 ultra-linear motor, a 3-mic setup for gaming, 1115K stereo speakers, 5G dual-band Wi-Fi, and a ring antenna design, enhancing the overall gaming experience.
