Recent reports claim that Apple is testing the new Safari browser for upcoming iOS and macOS with notable features and optimizations, including new interface changes, content blocking, new AI search functions and webpage eraser tool.
The browser is being tested by the Apple developers and expected to come later in 2024 for iOS 18 and macOS 15. The web address bar of the browser will feature ”Smart Search” function in the page control menu. By activating the ‘smart search’ function, users can leverage Apple’s AI model in a browser for various web tasks for better comprehensiveness, like – summarizing text, expand, topic explanation, keywords and more.
A new feature called ”Web Eraser” will also be included in the page control menu which let users to remove or erase parts of any web page, including any banner, images, text, ads, and any block that interferes while the user is browsing. However, the changes are revertible too. Means even after closing the tab, the Safari will keep the web page as it is and notify you regarding any modification or update to the web page. Then you can restore the webpage to its original form to see the updated information.
Reports claim that Apple is also testing on a Siri’s “Visual Lookup” like feature to analyse products images, animals and more by selecting images via only the browser. The features is expected to come in 2025.
